The current situation in Venezuela has the majority of the youth population fighting to preserve their dreams for the future. Students that have not already abandoned this fight, strive to find better opportunities in a country overflowing with primary colors; a magical land which we, as Venezuelans, carry in our hearts and our souls. These students fight for a dream painted in blue, red and yellow. A dream that pushes to lessen the terrible poverty, hunger and violence that cripples the country. A dream that fights for freedom, security and tranquility of the Venezuelan people.
“Yo Tengo Un Sueño" is an NGO based in Caracas, Venezuela. Inspired by Martin Luther King's speech and mindset. I Have a Dream's main objective is to provide food, school supplies and toys for more than 350 children who live in one of the biggest and poorest slums in Caracas: Petare.
The organization has also contributed with both Warao and Eñepa aboriginals, offering diverse workshops and creative stimulation courses that encourage the understanding of values through art.
This necklace represents the heart of my homeland. Since I am unable to raise my voice and fight for this dream in person, I have partnered with the “Yo Tengo Un Sueño" foundation, which is based in Venezuela to create a special piece that gives back to the Venezuelan people.
